Students with Disabilities (SWDs) Attending Approved Private Special Education Programs ​​​​​​(APSEPs)

Approved Private Special Education Programs (APSEPs) are special education programs in private facilities with CT State Board of Education approval. ¹The data source does not currently contain eligibility for free or reduced-price meals or English Learner/Multilingual Learner (EL/ML) status for students receiving special education and related services via a Services Plan, therefore, these students have been excluded from this chart. These students with disabilities are typically enrolled in Connecticut private/parochial schools around the state and receive minimal services (less than 3 total hours/week). 

Other Disabilities includes students with primary disabilities of Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, Orthopedic Impairment, Deaf/Blindness, Multiple Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury and Developmental Delay.
