Cohort Graduation Rates

The four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate represents the percentage of first time 9th graders who graduate with a regular high school diploma in four years or less. It is based on the nationally consistent method defined in 34 C.F.R. § 200.19 (73 FR 64508 (Oct. 29, 2008)). The four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate is indicator 8 of CT's Next Generation Accountability System.

Connecticut also calculates five-year and six-year extended cohort graduation rates. These rates represent the percentage of first time 9th graders who received a standard diploma within five and six years, respectively. The six-year adjusted cohort graduation rate for students with high needs is indicator 9 of CT's Next Generation Accountability System.
