Alternate Assessments
Connecticut's Alternate Assessment System is composed of the following assessments for eligible students with significant cognitive disabilities:
- Connecticut Alternate Assessment (CTAA) for English language arts and mathematics for eligible students in Grades 3-8 and 11

View CTAS data: 2023-24 | 2022-23 | 2021-22 | 2018-19 - Connecticut Alternate Assessment of English Language Proficiency (CAAELP) for students identified as English learner/multilingual learner (EL/ML) with significant cognitive disabilities for students in Grades K-12 .
Results for this assessment are not currently reported on EdSight, but can be located on the Centralized Reporting System. Please note that this is a secure system that requires a district distributed login.
Students with significant cognitive disabilities are identified for participation in the Alternate Assessment System when the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) determines the student meets eligibility criteria. Trained teachers administer the Alternate Assessments individually to eligible students.
