Seal-of-Biliteracy-Eligible Graduates

The Connecticut State Seal of Biliteracy was established to recognize public high school graduates who have attained a level of proficiency in English and one or more other languages. The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) collects information on the exams taken by students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades to demonstrate proficiency in a non-English language. Students demonstrate their English proficiency by graduating with a regular high school diploma. Upon graduation, the high school graduates who have also met the standard set by the State Board of Education in the language exam are determined to be Seal-Eligible for this report. This interactive report shows the characteristics of Seal-Eligible graduates starting with the graduating class of 2024.

NOTE: A very small number of districts that do not serve grade 12 students report graduates. This happens for some students with disabilities outplaced as part of an Individualized Education Plan.
